A novembre 2019 abbiamo registrato un disco. Un disco che per noi viene da lontano, dato che i pezzi che lo compongono hanno accompagnato il nostro ultimo anno e mezzo insieme, crescendo con la nostra band. “Origami”, pur essendo il nostro primo disco, ha quindi per noi paradossalmente anche il sapore di una raccolta. Ognuna di queste canzoni ha avuto un’origine e un percorso diverso, ma ognuna è stata “smontata” e “rimontata” diverse volte prima di arrivare alla forma definitiva. I testi, anch’essi scritti e rivisti continuamente, non hanno un filo conduttore chiaro, se non la compassione, lo slancio di comprensione e condivisione del sentimento altrui che li attraversa. Ciò che accomuna queste canzoni ha quindi a che fare con il processo più che con il prodotto: il lavoro di scrittura e riscrittura, di cura, che è stato fatto su di esse. Il titolo che abbiamo scelto richiama sia questo processo che il sentimento di vulnerabilità che ci spinge a scrivere canzoni.

Le sei canzoni che compongono “Origami” sono state registrate, mixate e masterizzate da Manuel Volpe ai Rubedo Recordings Studios, Torino, nel novembre 2019. La copertina è un collage dell’artista milanese Cranico (www.instagram.com/cranico_/), alla quale ci siamo rivolti perché crediamo che il suo stile possa aiutarci a rappresentare al meglio il percorso e la natura di questo disco.

During November 2019, we made a record. A record that for us comes from afar, as the songs that compose it have accompanied our last year and a half together, growing with our band. Origami is our first full length but to us it feels, at the same time, as a compilation. Every song has a different origin, but each one has been “disassembled” and “re-assembled” many times before reaching its final form. Lyrics, which have been written and reviewed many times too, don’t have a common thread, if not compassion, fit of comprehension and sharing others’ feelings. What all these songs have in common has to do more with the process than it has with the product, the work of writing and changing them carefully. We choose “Origami” as a title for this records because it recalls both this process and the feeling of fragility and vulnerability that pushes us to write songs.

The six songs that make up "Origami" were recorded, mixed and mastered by Manuel Volpe at Rubedo Recordings Studios, Turin, in November 2019. The cover art is a collage by the Milan-based artist Cranico (www.instagram.com/cranico_/), to whom we addressed because we believe that her style can help us better represent the path and nature of this record.
